Sunshine Pie and Magical Days

The weather is finally beginning to look up in Melbourne. Today was a sunny 25C and I spent it watching clouds and eating too much on a picnic mat in the Royal Botanical Gardens with some of my best friends from the Disney College Program.

I baked a Greek-inspired spinach and cheese pie for the occasion:

I find myself missing America often and the adventure I found in every day. Adventure got lost somewhere in the chilliness and long hours and distance and other people's expectations when I returned to Australia, and I have struggled to find it again. But just when I feel like all of it is long gone and that magic has almost disappeared from my life forever, days like this bring me right back and remind me of freedom, adventure and daydreams... of the things in my life and qualities in me that were birthed in some distant past in a kingdom far far away but continue to live and shape my present and my future.

The rest of my day consisted of fish and chips for dinner, The X Factor with the family and then zipping down the freeway to see a movie about Franklin County gangsters in the 1930s.

Mood: Happy.
